I loved watching this video.  I definitely needed it to help simplify my strategy with students.  I don't need all the fancy stuff.  I just need to be myself and talk to students like they are my friends.  It also helped me think about my verbal and nonverbal communication.  Loved the video!

What a great mental check Janelle! You bring up a great point, if we are relaxed and open to a great conversation, then our students can be as well. Thanks for sharing!

I enjoyed the presentation on "The Power of Persuasion" and found defining the term of persuasion useful to provide a positive meaning.  One of the key points is the straightforward process which I use daily without realizing it.  The process allows me to keep the messaging simple and allows for the conversation to move forward towards an end goal for the potential student.  Thanks!

Glad to hear it Rebecca! I think you are right on with that approach. To us it is a process, but we always need to remember it is the first time for our students, so keeping it simple is very helpful to our audience.

Hi Chris, thank you for sharing! You have picked up on another great insight from this webinar. I love the power of connection, to help ease some of the uncertainty of starting/heading back to school.  Ultimately, the more encouraging that we can be, can make the experience all the more positive for the student. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Thanks for sharing Carol. Great insights!

I tend to agree with you, sometimes we can get into a routine and forget about the "extra" stuff that we might be communicating, and that can be a turnoff to a prospective student. Also great technique is to mirror your student and then use some of our Match-Pace-Lead skills so you can be at the same level with them before leading into a new direction. It is a great way to earn trust and continue focus to the relationship.
