What are some of the things you do for yourself or with your team to stay motivated and at the top of your game as an Admissions professional?
I strive on speaking with folks who love to learn! You learn new things, find recommendations for personal/professional growth opportunities, and frankly the enthusiasm is contagious!
Right now I think the key is to look to the future. This is just as important for the admissions professional as it is for our students.
Focus on who you want to be and your goals for the future and each day do something (even if it's a small step) that moves you in that direction.
I'm guessing right now is a hard time to stay motivated - especially in admissions. I've been talking with pros across the country the past few weeks and they are scrambling to get online. Two schools have actually stopped recruiting all together. Wow! That can't be good.
Overall, we have to stay calm and perfect our skills in connecting with students and calming their fears. The world will return to a new normal and we all have a choice. We can prepare ourselves now while working from home or we can worry about things we have no control over. :)
What do you choose?
