To build rapport with your potential customers you first have to portray yourself as "approachable' . Additionally, rapport building requires you to be aware of your community, current events, news, and other positive topics. Strive to be diverse on these areas of interests to discover commonality.

I think it's important to establish mutual respect, common/shared goals; mirroring-in terms of how we communicate and the level of energy.

VA,

Thank you for your response! These are three amazing components for building rapport with potential clients. What is one tip that you do for gaining 'mutual respect'?

1. Begin incorporating a "mixed VAK" sentence into conversation and note how they answer to better speak to them in language they easily process. "Based on what you've seen and heard so far, how do you feel about what what we have to offer?" is a great start.

2. Continue to repeat, rephrase/restate, reflect. Doing these show attentiveness and will help you up the hierarchy towards mutual interest

3. MOST IMPORTANTLY, build Rapport! This is so important as it builds a stronger foundation so that you can EARN the right to sell them on the opinion statement of asking them to come in for a tour.

Excellent Kurtis!

Looks like you are taking the things that you are learning and allowing them to really sink in...excellent! Let me ask you, can you give me an example of when you weren't able to build rapport with a client? With what you are learning...what is one thing you would do differently, knowing what you know now?

Oh my! I just saw this. I have many times talked myself out of the zone where sharing ideas and building rapport happens because I overshared information and have not spent enough time learning about the student.
