How are you handling remote/virtual admissions?

Given many campuses have closed down and prospective students can't visit, we asked 275 career college leaders how they were working with prospective students given the current environment. The results may surprise you. 🤫

30% - On-campus visits

82% - Phone visits

53% - Virtual Meetings/Screen Sharing

20% - Automated Admissions/Advising

  6% - Nothing

🔹On Campus Visits (30%)-certain states allow colleges to remain open under their (and legal's) definition of essential services

🔹Phone Visits (82%)-the most popular shift has been to meet with students via phone. The effectiveness has pros & cons. It's a quick fix & doesn't require new technology but it's not a preferred contact method for today's student.

🔹Virtual/Screen Share (53%)-whether using GotoMeetingZoom or another platform, this option warranted discussion given the preparation necessary to be effective (and within compliance guidelines). Training & preparation are needed since different skill sets are required.

🔹Automated Admissions/Advising (20%)-there is more opportunity to use this next generation software. Tools like MyGuidanceCoach provide a compliant admissions interview 24/7 to recruit/engage prospective students-especially when short on staff https://lnkd.in/eJZnNCE

🔹Nothing (6%)-Admissions on hold

The most important thing is to act fast; make sure you set this up correctly (work space, technology, training and within compliance regulations) and then refine to keep improving.

How is your campus handling the call to action?
